In this tutorial, we will see together how to get the oriented bounding box of a 3D mesh, using maths!
To do this, we will use Python inside Maya. We will use the maya python API2.0 (with some explanation about it), and the Numpy library. It doesn't come by default with Maya, but we'll also cover its installation.
Finally, beyond making this useful tool, the goal is also to tackle rigging problems from a maths perspective, to understand technical papers and implement them.
